Tournament Director Notes: In hopes of having more competitive and balanced state finals competition, MASA instituted a pitcher classification system along with a review of the rosters and pitchers before final team classification was determined for the first time in 2008. This was possible by the flexibility of the MASA office, MASA Commissioners throughout Michigan and a group of twelve fast pitch enthusiasts that reviewed classification issues via email. Thank you all for your efforts. The number of close games and games decided in the final inning of this tournament may be a result of these efforts as there were 16 of the 25 games that were determined in the final at-bats of the games. The fans of Petoskey and Charlevoix enjoyed this very exciting softball.
